Hey there,

I'll want to thank you for checking out my website. I get a lot of questions why I call my shop the "Windy Slough". It's because I am fortunate enough to have this very cool little wetlands back behind my house. It's full of all kinds of interesting plants and wildlife. It's a lot like the items I create. There's all kinds of interesting things that come out of the "Windy Slough".

I've always had this driving desire to create. There's something satisfying about being able to make design or redesign something to fit a specific need. Almost every time I step into my shop it's like reinventing the wheel. I often referred to it as therapy.

As a kid I took apart and rebuilt just about everything I could get my hands on. This includes every bicycle I have ever had. During my younger years I raced BMX bicycles. This only fueled the fire for my love of bikes. I began to race in road events, mountain bike events biathlons and triathlons. Till this day I still have the need to ride my bicycle.

At the age of 21 I opened my first shop. It was called "Top of the Hill Body Shop". You guessed it. It was on the top of a hill. There's pattern going on here. I just hope it's not in the right direction. During the "Top of the Hill Body Shop" years I was fortunate enough to have met some very talented people who gave me a lot of insight and old school how to's in the auto restoration process. I took heed to their teaching and used the same techniques to restore a countless number of classic vehicles, antique toys, vintage gas engines, etc. Since I was spending a lot of time working on projects that required a lot of detail, I really began to hone my skills and narrow my focus on the functional art, and bicycles, while continuing to restore select classic autos. This is where I am today. Still evolving, at just the right pace.

I'd like to thank those old guy's for the lessons learned. I hope they know now that I was listening back then. So again, I thank you for stopping by the "Windy Slough Bicycle Company"
